RE-Integration

T. Is a child Voice Of Street met while he was living on the street. His daily activities were not more than roaming around, sniffing glue, smoking weed and drinking alcohol. Life on the streets made him desperate. When our VOS volunteer met him for the first time he was many times out of conscious.

In collaboration with our well wisher Mr. Lok Poon it took lots of effort to manage the necessary paperworks submitting him for a treatment helping T. Dealing with his addictions. Big thanks for Gateway Foundation (GWF) where he could start his treatment starting his new phase of a clean life.

T. Just completed his 90days treatment and got positively discharged from the GWF.

VoS also managed to get T. in contact with his mother. Now T. is living together with his mother again. Happily we can also announce he started a training in tailoring. VoS want him to live his life independently and he is really trying hard!

The VoS team wishes T. a better and successful life. Whatever challenges he will experience, VoS is always there for him.

Thank you GWF Family for helping VOS giving this child back his future!

Rehabilitate of Street Children

26 July 2018

Yes Yes we feel glad when some Street children get their chance to rebuild their life:

Rajin lives in the street for approximately 8 to 10 years. He is now 16 year old and his father died when he was 5. His mother works in the construction field and is suffering from alcohol addiction while living in a slum area. Rajin has 4 brothers and 3 sisters. Due to the lack of love, care, education opportunities and the financial conditions, Rajin has left his home when he was 6 and lived on the streets onwards.

Via the field work of VOS we found Rajin. He was highly addicted sniffing glue, while also using weed and alcohol on a daily basis. During his years on the streets he suffered abuses and harassment a lot.
He felt so frustrated about his life he told one of our team members.

The VOS team reached out to Rajin, motivated him and counseled him about how to change his way of (street)life.
Lots of paperwork’s made him wait 1 month before we could admit him to rehab as the first start of his new life.
Thanks to his desire of starting a new life and our dedication to never give up when it gets difficult Rajin is now already for 3 days in rehab!!

I would like to specially thank program coordinator Ishwor Gurung, for his kind help making it possible to change peoples lives.

I also would like to thank the entire VOS team and all the others who helped and supported in this case.

Tamsin Maya ‘Berlin Half Marathon’

08 April 2018
Sunday April 8 was the day of the Berlin half marathon. VoS member Tamsin Maya trained really well for this run, but unfortunately, a few days before the start of the event she got a serious infection on her leg which meant she could not walk. Due to the infection Tamsin had to cancel her participation in the run. Unbelievably sad, she gave her friends who were running in the event, moral support from the sideline.

As many donors gave money for VoS, Tamsin has decided she will run another half marathon in June to show to all the donors (and mostly herself) she does not give up in the face of adversity.

Tamsin raised over her target amount and we are very proud of her and thankful for all of her support. Thank you so much to all those who donated and for all the support you have given VoS.
